NEWday Caseworker

As a NEWday Caseworker, you will be involved in the assessment, advice, and advocacy of those who attend our Day Services. You will be the first point of contact when a guest comes to NEWday. You will need to have a person-centred approach, good observational skills, active at listening and non-judgemental. You need to be able to undertake early assessments and interventions and devise an individualised care plans. You will hold a small caseload of those not allocated to other services. You will also work closely with colleagues in our commissioned integrated partnership, including outreach and accommodation services. You will also ensure that guests access a full range of activities and offers that help them belong to a community and contribute to their overall wellbeing.

The role of the NEWday Caseworker will be based in our centre in East Ham, with opening hours 8.30am-2.30pm, Monday to Friday. You will have additional paid hours to work flexibly on admin tasks.

 

Job Specification

  • Fixed term contract until 31st March 2024- possible extension to March 2025, subject to funding confirmations

  • 35 hours per week

  • Rate: £16.23 per hour (£29,539 per annum)

  • Closing Date: 18th September 2023

  • Interviews: 20th September 2023 in East Ham, E6 2SG

NEWdawn Caseworker

As a NEWdawn Caseworker, you will be involved in the assessment, advice, and advocacy of those who secure
a place in our winter night shelter. You will need to have a person-centred approach, good observational skills,
active at listening and non-judgemental. You need to be able to undertake early assessments and interventions
and devise individualised care plans and hold your own caseload. You will work closely with the Host Churches
and other partners. You will ensure that guests access a full range of activities and offers that help them belong to a community and contribute to their overall wellbeing as well as ensuring that guests have the opportunity to explore the Christian faith.


The role of the NEWdawn Caseworker will be flexibly based in our centre in East Ham, with opening hours
8.30am-2.30pm, Monday to Friday and amongst our host church venues around Newham from 7:30pm-9pm.
