NEWday Project advice centre is a warm place of welcome.

for those experiencing homelessness or are under threat of having nowhere to stay.

You will need to register when you first come to NEWday, have a London borough of Newham Connection. Sorry, we are unable to support adults with dependents (children/elders). 

About us: We offer tailored support to individuals who are ready to overcome barriers and we will support you to move away from homelessness. 

This may include support with a c/o address, finances, (opening and managing a bank account/money management), accessing eligible benefits, supporting with Job Search/employment, training to get online and using computers, taking care of health and wellbeing,  referrals to emergency shelters & hostels, advice on Private Rented options, referrals to London Borough of Newham - Homeless Prevention & Advice Service, signposting to other specialists.

Appointments: Now corona virus restrictions are reduced you do not need to book an appointment before coming in.

On your first visit we will need some basic details to register you so we can see what possibilities of further support there are.  You will be asked to take a Covid test before entering.

If you wish to shower or use the laundry you will also need to register first.

Private rented accommodation: If you are registered with NEWday, we offer support to find private rented accommodation for those finding it difficult to find a home. Click this link to check the criteria. Once you are registered we can make an appointment for this service. Please note we are not an accommodation agency.

 

Help with alcohol use: A member of Alcoholics Anonymous is available to offer one-to-one confidential advice and support concerning alcohol use.

Currently a member of Alcoholics Anonymous attends fortnightly on Tuesdays between 10.00am and 1.00pm.

Showers:  You can drop in between 9.00 and 1.30pm for a shower.
Speak to our duty manager on arrival and he will provide towels etc. If it is your first visit to NEWday we will need to do a short registration with you beforehand.

Laundry: We offer three washes a day. Please drop off ONE bag only of washing by 9.30am. You can then collect your bag between 1.00 and 2.00pm the same day. Unclaimed washing will only be kept for one week.
